Acer grosseri 'Hersii'

Hers' Maple, Snakebark Maple, Snakeskin Maple

Snakeskin Maple (Acer grosser ‘Hersii’) is a deciduous tree known for its unusual, green-striped bark. Native to China, it grows best in sun to partial shade and can be found in mixed hardwood forests at elevations up to 5000 feet. Also known as Bigleaf Maple, it is valued for its autumn color, when the dark green leaves turn a mix of mottled orange and red. Snakeskin Maple will grow to about 30 feet tall, spreading to take on an elongated rounded form, and can grow in containers as well as in outdoor areas.
