Ajuga pyramidalis 'Metallica Crispa'

Bugleweed Or Carpetweed

Bugleweed (Ajuga pyramidalis 'Metallica Crispa') is an evergreen flowering plant with a fast spreading habit. The crinkled leaves are dark reddish-purple, with a shiny metallic sheen that intensifies in full sun, and the short, 6 inch spikes of light blue flowers rise over the leaves from mid to late spring. Metallica Crispa grows best in full sun and well-drained soils, but can tolerate shade. Also known as Carpet Bugleweed, it spreads quickly, thriving in rock gardens and often growing where grass cannot.
