Acalypha pendula

Dwarf Chenille Plant

Dwarf Chenille Plant (Acalypha pendula) is named for its fluffy bright-red flower spikes. A popular houseplant, it will bloom year-round if given enough light. It grows with a weeping habit, producing slightly fuzzy, evergreen foliage and dramatic pendulous red blooms, or cattails, that reach between 5 and 7 inches long. A. pendula is native to Cuba, Java, and New Guinea, and prefers high humidity and normal to moist soil. It propagates easily from stem cuttings and is a low maintenance plant.
